Jennifer Brun

Jennifer Brun is the President of the CBA BC Branch for the 2020-21 term.

As a Director with Harris & Brun since 2016, Jennifer’s focus is on civil litigation and professional regulation, with an emphasis on claims arising from professional liability, occupiers’ liability, recreational accidents, and motor vehicle accidents. She represents her clients in both litigation and regulatory contexts, before all levels of court in British Columbia and before their respective governing bodies and administrative tribunals. Her experience includes litigating personal injury matters involving mild and complicated traumatic brain injuries, neurological injuries, and chronic pain.

Rob Burns

Rob is a nine year veteran of the Lawyer Show: starting with the role of a guitar slinging Duke in “As You Like It”, to a cantankerous geezer in “Urinetown”. He holds dear the friendships made over the years with those on-stage, back-stage and all those otherwise involved with all of the shows. After retiring from the practice of law in 2019 he and his family moved to a farm in Langley. Happily, he has been able to keep working “on the boards” with two Theatre in the Country productions: “The Gift of the Magi” (Live streamed) and “The Man Who Came to Dinner” (Zoom).

Alison Colpitts

Alison Colpitts is a litigation associate at Clark Wilson LLP. This is her third Lawyer Show—her first as an actual lawyer—having performed in Urinetown in 2019 and The Drowsy Chaperone in 2018 as a law student. Alison has also performed in Hair!, Gilbert and Sullivan’s Iolanthe, and another performance of Urinetown. She’s thrilled to have found other members of the legal community who share her passion for song and dance and can’t wait to return to the physical stage next year. Off stage, she fills her time with reading, puzzles, piano, and parks.

Shannon Currie

This will be Shannon’s second Lawyer Show (first appearance singing virtually)!  Shannon is a tax litigator and team leader at the Department of Justice and has practised there since 2008 when she was called to the bar.  She is grateful to be part of this charitable event in support of the arts, particularly after such a challenging year.  Many thanks to everyone at Touchstone and Carousel Theatres who have worked hard to bring this production to your screens.  The committed and talented cast is sure to put on yet another entertaining show!”

Navi Gill

I’m excited to join this year’s Virtual Lawyer Show. I’ve grown up loving the arts and hope you enjoy the show!

Johanna Goosen

Johanna is thrilled to be able to crawl out of isolation to spend a bit of time in a theatre (even if it was only 20 minutes). Can’t wait to see everyone on stage and in the same room in the near future!

Tevia Jeffries

Tevia is thrilled to be a part of this year’s Lawyer Show. Her past Lawyer Shows include The Drowsy Chaperone, Grease, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, Legally Blonde and Spamalot. Tevia is a partner in the Insolvency and Restructuring Group of Dentons Canada LLP in her day job (and she’s a lawyer, so also her night job), and she finds it a joy and a privilege to participate in the Lawyer Show with such phenomenally talented lawyers and production folks year after year. Donate to Carousel and Touchstone if you are able!

Kiera Neufeld

Kiera is an immigration lawyer from Saskatchewan who has been working as a paralegal at the Law Society of BC since 2018. She started dance classes – ballet and tap – when she was 7 years old and has been a dance teacher for 8 years. She has her Advanced 1 RAD (ballet) and Advanced CDTA (tap and jazz) qualifications and has performed in New York, Minnesota, and all across the prairie provinces. Her favourite musical is Mamma Mia! and she is honoured to be a part of the Touchstone and Carousel family since 2020.

Stephen Robertson

Stephen is the President of Carousel Theatre Society, and an 8 time veteran of the Lawyer Show (including the UPS guy in Legally Blonde and Lancelot in Spamalot). Stephen is Executive Vice President, General Counsel of Aurinia Pharmaceuticals Inc., a Victoria-based pharmaceutical company with FDA approval for a treatment for lupus nephritis. Thank you for supporting this great collaboration between the legal and artistic communities, and showing your support for local theatre in these trying times.

Linda Sum

Linda’s love of theatre has led to appearances in eight Lawyer Shows in numerous roles and an endless supply of wigs.  Favourites include Pennywise (Urinetown), Trix (Drowsy Chaperone) Motormouth Maybelle (Hairspray) Paulette (Legally Blonde), Domina (Forum), and Jenny Southstreet (Guys and Dolls).  She has also performed in numerous local productions.   Linda works as a diversity consultant/harassment investigator.

Sarah Tradewell

Sarah Tradewell is delighted to be a part of her first Lawyer Show. Past performances include Our Town (MD), Animal Crackers, My Fair Lady, A Closer Walk with Patsy Cline, (Blue Bridge Repertory Theatre), Hank Williams: The Show He Never Gave (BBRT and Persephone Theatre), and Pride and Prejudice (Langham Court Theatre). Sarah holds a Bachelor of Music and a JD/MBA from UVic and is currently a family and strata property lawyer at Clark Wilson LLP. Sarah is a huge classical music nerd and loves to shred some good Celtic and old time fiddle tunes.

Vista Trethewey

Vista is thrilled to be part of the Lawyer Show Online Cabaret-a-Ganza. As a Lawyer Show veteran, Vista missed the show dearly in 2020. She continued to belt out songs while sheltering at home to the “willing” audience of her husband and three kids. But Vista hoped that the Touchstone and Carousel teams would find a creative way to bring back Lawyer Show in 2021. Thanks to the hard work of the folks at Touchstone and Carousel, Lawyer Show 2021 is a reality and Vista is gifted a medium to share the joy of song with all of you.  We hope that this years Lawyer Show inspires you to dance and sing to your own music.

Sean Vanderfluit

Thirteen is Sean’s favourite number, so it’s lucky that his return to the (virtual) boards for The 2021 Lawyer Show Online: Cabaret-A-Ganza! marks his 13 th appearance in the Lawyer Show. From classic plays, to Shakespeare, and to musicals, Sean thought he had done it all with the Lawyer Show until this year’s special online adaptation. Outside the theatre, Sean has been a B.C. Supreme Court Deputy District Registrar, a civil litigator, and a Senior Review Officer at WorkSafeBC, where he has been for the last 14 years. As always, many thanks to his family. Team MSDV+C&R!

Roger Watts

Roger is thrilled to be back with his friends at the Lawyer Show, even if virtually! Roger’s past shows include Arsenic And Old Lace, Guys And Dolls, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, Legally Blonde, Hairspray and Grease. He also appeared in the Disney feature film Miracle. When not treading the boards, Roger practices insurance defence law as a partner with Lindsay LLP. He also serves on the Board of Directors of Carousel Theatre for Young People, as well as the H.R. MacMillan Space Centre.
